Every year the department welcomes plastic surgeons, French and international, either completing their training or already board certified, for a full year of immersion.
The fellow takes part in daily activity: clinics, operating rooms, multidisciplinary tumour boards, staff meetings and ward rounds, and progresses through mentoring, from assisting to supervised operating.
What the year covers
- oncologic breast surgery and oncoplastic techniques
- implant-based reconstruction, immediate and delayed
- autologous reconstruction and microsurgery: DIEP, PAP, gracilis, lumbar flap
- head and neck reconstruction with free flaps and 3D planning
- sarcoma surgery and dermatologic surgery
- participation in the clinical research projects of the department
The working language is English. Some French makes daily exchanges with patients and nursing teams easier.
